What does your home grown – hometown insurance agent really mean…

I grew up on a farm just west of Baldwin City. I learned a lot about hard work from my parents. They were great examples and their lessons have served me well for a lifetime. I enjoyed growing up with three brothers. We always got along great with no fighting – okay maybe some fighting.

I attended Baldwin schools where I had the privilege of being taught by some outstanding teachers. I graduated with the finest class in Baldwin High history – of course, I could be a little biased.

After graduating from Baldwin High, I attended and graduated from Baker University. I am proud to say I survived as a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and still managed to graduate in four years. I was truly fortunate to learn from so many great professors. I am a proud Baker Wildcat alum!

Since 1984, I have worked in the insurance industry. In 2010, I founded Compass Insurance Services, an independent insurance agency, based in Olathe, KS. A few years later I teamed up with the Aspire Insurance Agency based in Overland Park. In 2016, I moved back to the family farm in Baldwin and started Jardon Insurance.

My primary goal is to help people protect and insure their most prized and valuable possessions while finding them the best overall value (protection/price) from the companies I represent. I strongly believe in the independent insurance agent network as I represent many great insurance companies, which is different from the captive agent who only represents one insurance company. Choice and flexibility are important since your insurance needs change over the years. As an independent agent, I work for you and not for the single insurance company.

I believe it is important to give back to the community that has given so much to me. I am a proud member of the Baldwin City Lion’s Club, Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, the Santa Fe Trail Historical Society, and the Prairie City Cemetery Association board. I am also the president of the yearly Averill, Butel/Butell, Jardon reunion.

I feel blessed to have such a great family. My wonderful wife, Marta, and I have four amazing daughters. I am the luckiest guy in the world.
